Waiting Families

Thank you for considering adoption. We can’t even begin to understand the emotions that you must be feeling. There are many tough decisions that you will have to make. We hope that by choosing adoption, you will experience the inner peace and comfort that ultimately comes from making a wise decision when faced with difficult choices.

Adoption is truly the most loving thing anyone can do because a child is the most precious gift of all! Adoption has always been a part of our lives; Paula’s mother was adopted and our family thanks God that her birthmother made the best choice for her situation. It gave Paula’s grandparents the opportunity to have a family. Without adoption, Paula wouldn’t be here.

We hope that adoption will be a way for us to start our family too. We will raise him/her knowing how much they were loved by his/her birthmother. She will be an important person in our lives forever and the child will always know what a huge sacrifice this was for her. We live by thinking that things happen for a reason and we know that we will be able to provide a loving, safe, and stable home for your child.

About Us

We are in our late thirties; have been married for 11 years now, but have been together for two decades. We met while working at the local Dairy Queen during high school. We have been together forever and love every minute of it!

We dated for a number of years, went to college, got married in 1998, and have been trying to start a family for about 9 years now. After a number of failed attempts at In vitro fertilization and a miscarriage, we decided to turn to adoption. Adoption brings hope to our situation. We look forward to having a family that we can raise with the same values that we have been taught by our parents.

Mick (by Paula)

Mick is a supervising power plant operator for a utility company. His swing shift schedule allows him to be home sometime during the week. This will allow him to spend some quality time parenting and he can’t wait to participate at school functions in the future.

The thing that attracted me to my husband is his joyful, fun loving, personality. He is always happy and likes to try and sing around the house. Being the oldest in a family with three siblings, he has a sister and a brother; he has really grown into a great father figure. He is very involved with his and my family.

Mick is very compassionate and is always willing to help anyone out. His mother is a nurse and I think he gets these traits from her. He is very physically active, spontaneous, likes to workout, play golf, and enjoys being outside. He is also very interested in cars and in construction. He would love to work on projects with a child of his own one day.

Paula (by Mick)

Paula works full-time as a finance supervisor in the automotive industry, but plans on switching to part-time once we have a child. Day care will not be a problem since she and I will be home during part of the week and we already have my Mom and Paula’s sister willing to watch the baby in our home when needed.

Paula is a kind and giving person. She is the second oldest in a family of four siblings and is very close to all of them. She is a planner and likes to make sure that we are well organized. Along with spending time with family, she likes shopping, crafts, reading, and photography. She always has a camera in her hand and likes to capture all of life’s moments on film. She wants to experience the joy of motherhood and we want to raise a child to know the love of God.

Our Families

We are both very close with our families and they all live within five miles from our home. We also have some lifelong friends that we like to spend our time with. There is always a birthday or some other reason to get together. Our families are very closely involved in everything that we do and we are always there to support each other. We just had two new nephews added to our family this year and we would love to have a child to grow up with them. Cousins are built in best friends!

Our Neighborhood

We live in an established neighborhood where there are a lot of young children. Our home is a three bedroom ranch that has a nice spacious backyard, perfect for a swing set and a game of baseball. The finished basement provides extra play space when the weather is not so nice outside. We are in a really good school district and there are a number of parks nearby.

Up North

We also have a place up North on a lake that we try to get to as often as possible. We like to spend time outdoors swimming, fishing, ice skating, sledding, and just plain having fun all year round!

We love living in Michigan where we can enjoy all four seasons. Each season has wonderful traditions that we look forward to. Some of our favorites are cleaning up the colorful leaves once they are done falling from all of the trees! Searching for just the right Christmas tree to cut down and then warming up with some hot chocolate. There is nothing like the fresh smell of a blue spruce in the house. Easter egg hunts in the spring and of course the fireworks over the lake on the 4th of July!

Our Thoughts to You

Even though things may seem upside-down, we want to assure you that we are at a point in our lives where we can focus on raising a child. We wish to teach him/her about everything under the sun. Our Christian beliefs will lead us to demonstrate compassion, respect, and love for God and one another. Previous experiences have strengthened our marriage beyond our imagination. We have a happy home life and would like to share our blessings with your child. So, please consider us during this difficult time of your life when you are trying to decide what is best for your baby. Thank you for your time.
