Waiting Families
Brian & Stacey
We cannot imagine a more important decision a person could make than the one now facing you. We hope that you find true peace in your heart knowing you will be led to the right loving family. If after reading our profile, you decide to honor us with the responsibility of loving and raising this child, please know that we will honor your faith in us.
We both knew shortly after meeting in 2004 that we had found our ideal life partner. We married later that year. We are so incredibly fortunate that our relationship today is what we hoped and believed it would be when we first met: a strong foundation of friendship, deep love of each other and family, and lots of laughter. From the start, our mutual dream was to share our love and lives with a family of our own. We both grew up with siblings, and some of our favorite memories are those that we spent with our brothers and sisters.
Our Journey:
It wasn’t long before we discovered that our journey to build a family would not be without challenges. After multiple fertility treatments, we were blessed with our daughter Riley in 2007. After two more years of infertility struggles, we were heartbroken to discover that we would not be able to conceive another child. Through all of the heartbreak and disappointment, our love for each other and Riley has not only endured, but also flourished in the face of this challenge. That love is a testament to our unending support for each other and our faith in God’s plan for us. After much thoughtful reflection and prayer, we were led to adoption. Above all we want the opportunity to be parents, to love another child, and to create those same wonderful memories that we have of our siblings and family. It is with much excitement that we begin this new adoption journey.
Brian (written by Stacey):
I knew Brian was special when he brought pictures of his family to show me on our first date. After watching him interact with all his nieces and nephews, it was easy to see why he was the “favorite” Uncle and that this man was truly born to be a Dad. Brian is an amazing dad to Riley. He is patient, funny, and a big kid at heart who infuses humor into everything he does. He loves spending daddy-daughter time with Riley, whether it’s playing blocks on the floor, swimming, walking the dog, or having a tea party.
With degrees in engineering and business, Brian has built a successful long term career with a large automotive company. In his spare time, he loves doing home/cottage improvement projects, swimming, boating, and spending quality time with his family.
I thank God every day that I found such a wonderful husband and father.
Stacey (written by Brian):
I fell head over heels for Stacey because of her sense of humor and drive. I knew it was meant to be when my family also immediately loved her and before long, she was the favorite “cool” aunt. Stacey loves to read, cook, boat, travel and run, but more than anything she loves being a mom. She’s very hands on and enjoys joining Riley in activities such as gymnastics, craft projects, baking, and dancing. Growing up, Stacey’s favorite memories were of family vacations to the beach and amusement parks so she loves planning our family trips and includes grandparents and extended family whenever possible. She’s always trying to be the best at everything she does and has succeeded when it comes to being a mom and a wife. Her greatest joy in life is her family.
Stacey works for a chemical company as a Financial Manager. She’s fortunate to have a flexible work schedule which allows her to work from a home office. Stacey plans to take a leave of absence of five to six months and return to work on a part time basis from home. Any additional child care needs will be provided in our home by our nanny of almost three years.
Our Life Together:
We lead an active lifestyle with a joint interest in traveling, boating, skiing, and hiking. We love spending long weekends and extended time at our cottage, located on a beautiful lake in Northern Michigan. It’s here we’ve been able to share so many of our own favorite activities with Riley and watch as she develops a love for the water and outdoors as well.
We always look forward to Brian’s three sisters and their families joining us at the cottage during the summer. These are great times filled with boating, sailing, hiking, or biking during day, enjoying a big family meal in the evening and ending the day with S’mores around the campfire at night. Watching Riley play with all her cousins is an absolute joy.
We also enjoy the simple times at home, as some of our happiest moments have been dancing around the living room and sitting in front of the fireplace playing a game as a family.
Our Home and Neighborhood:
Soon after marrying, we stumbled upon our dream house and purchased it knowing it would be a great place to raise our future family. Our home is a two story with four bedrooms and an open floor plan providing plenty of room for toys, dancing and hosting play dates. Our house is located on a cul-de-sac in a new neighborhood with lots of families and young children. Every year our subdivision has a block party centered around games and activities for the kids. We live in a scenic area of the outer suburbs surrounded by numerous parks, trails, and lakes within an award winning school district.
Our Promise to You:
We believe that there is no greater gift in life than the opportunity to parent and love a child. If you chose us, we will spend our lives honoring your decision by loving a child unconditionally with all our hearts. We promise to give your child the confidence to be anything they want to be, to share a life full of laughter and adventure, to encourage curiosity of their world, and that we will always be a stable source of comfort they can turn to in difficult times.
We will never let them forget you, the courageous woman who gave them life and loved them so unconditionally that you planned for their future with us. Your child will truly come to understand the gift you have bestowed upon all of us.
