Dear Birthmother,

No words can begin to describe the love between a mother and her child. You have demonstrated this love in your desire to make an adoption plan and plan the best future for your child. We cannot imagine the emotion that has gone into this decision but we pray that God continues to bless you with wisdom and strength during this process. Unfortunately our dream of a family has been challenging due to infertility. While our infertility has been difficult it has not diminished our enthusiasm about becoming parents. As we pursue adoption we are filled with the understanding that God has something greater in store for us. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We are honored that you are considering us to be a part of your journey.

About Us

Our life together began in 2006 the week of Maria’s 30th birthday when we were introduced by a mutual friend. He felt that our love and dedication to our families and the fact that we both liked sports made us a perfect match. Fortunately we connected in so many other ways. We were married in 2008 and haven’t sat still since! We are an energetic couple who love spending time with our families and friends and most importantly each other. Vacationing and traveling are large passions of ours and we recently spent time exploring Italy. While we loved the history, museums and scenery we must admit we really loved the food!

We look forward to expanding our knowledge of the world through further travel and sharing those experiences with our children. We love to try new things. Last year, it was a white water rafting trip. The year before we took a ballroom dance class. That was a disaster as neither of us can dance; but it was fun and we had everyone laughing with us. We do so much together but we have our own distinct personalities. Maria is the planner and keeps our household moving forward. She loves to go shopping with her mom and sister. Maria also loves reading, photography, scrap booking and bike riding. Brian loves to exercise and play hockey. He also likes to go fishing, hunting, and to play golf. We love our long conversations best and we always make each other laugh. Brian is a manager of a small city. He enjoys the small city atmosphere and helping residents. He also enjoys the flexibility his job provides. In addition, he has had his own consulting business the last four years where he consults on public policy issues. Maria has been fascinated by science and medicine since she was young and is living her dream job working as a Physician Assistant. Maria will take off 12 weeks to spend with our child when it is born. Brian will also take off a large amount of time and will work from home whenever possible. We have already investigated many different daycares to find one that we feel is comfortable and safe. We also have two retired mothers who look forward to watching a grandchild whenever they are needed.

Our Families

Maria and Brian have been blessed with two wonderful families. We have been taught by the example of our parents the importance of family. We are both the oldest children and enjoy spending time with them. Saturday’s are often spent with Maria’s family watching Michigan State football or basketball games. In the summer we love heading up north to their cottage on Lake Huron to have fun on the water and spend our evenings making s’mores. Brian’s family has introduced Maria to competitive board games and to family games of football. We both love children and at Brian’s family get-togethers, you will find us running and playing with his cousins. We also spend time at their family cabin camping, hiking, and fishing.

Our Home and Community

Our home is a comfortable three bedroom house. Since we are avid sports fans we feel very fortunate to live in a large city near a university but also in a small quiet neighborhood with a diverse community. Our neighborhood is perfect for raising children. Bike paths that lead from our neighborhood to the downtown are always crowded with parents and children bike riding or roller blading. We enjoy taking walks or bike rides through our community and look forward to doing that with our children. We love that we are close to the cultural opportunities that the City and the University provide. Two miles from our home is the Roman Catholic Church that we attend weekly. While Brian was raised Eastern Orthodox we have found that we share the same core beliefs and attending church weekly brings us closer together. Our faith has given us the foundation on which to continue to build our marriage and plan for our future family. It inspires us to try and be people that one day our children will look up to and admire.

Our Future

We both grew up in such loving families and have been blessed in many ways that we are eager to pass that love on to our children. We are so excited to start a family and experience the first steps, first words, and first day of school. We long to read books, attend baseball games or dance recitals, and help with homework. We will provide your child with every opportunity that is possible. We wish you the best in your adoption journey. We cannot imagine the gravity of emotions you feel nor could we fully measure your courage. We can assure you that we would be honored if you chose us and would cherish and love your gift of life for the rest of our lives. We have an approved home study on file with Adoption Associates.
