Jerry and Rhonda
Having another child had always been our dream. For five years, our daughter Olivia asked for a baby brother or sister. We would have loved to give her one, but after nearly seven years of fertility treatments to have her, it didn’t seem possible.
We had looked into other adoption agencies in the past, but feared we would have to wait years for a child. Our friends had adopted a beautiful baby girl through Adoption Associates. They told us what a wonderful agency it was and brought us an information packet. Boy, were they right!
Our first appointment went very well. We ordered the reading material they had suggested as soon as we got home. We decided a transracial adoption was what we wanted, and with the guidance of the wonderful people at AAI, we were ready to start the adoption process. After we learned there is a huge need for parents who want to adopt transracially, we felt our decision was confirmed.
The day we were linked with a birth mother was eleven years to the day we had found out we were pregnant with our first daughter, Olivia. We were going to be parents again to a baby girl we named Sophia!
The days to come were somewhat of a rollercoaster ride. Sophia’s birth mother was diffficult to stay in touch with and no one was sure where to find her birth father. The people at AAI worked night and day to find them and help us bring our little girl home. What a wonderful group of people! They kept us informed every step of the way and were successful in getting Sophia home before she was three weeks old. Although rare, we had waited only two months from the time of our home study.
We are now the proud parents of two beautiful little girls—both brought to us in a very special way and both loved more then anyone can imagine. We will never be able to thank our friends for helping us find AAI, and we could never thank Adoption Associates enough for what they have done for us.
